Can anyone guide me as to what i need to do to convert from 6v to 12v, think i have a pretty good idea but would be nice to see what others think and have done.

The process isn't difficult, but it is tedious. The biggest draw back for me is not having the starter sound like it did in the old days. You can get a junk yard alternator, change the pulley, make some mount brackets, and run DP/ST switch with the idiot light. Put a ballast resistor on the coil, and change the bulbs. Save ALL the old parts, as you may want to change back. Don't use a real high cranking amp battery, as it may weld the starter switch. Put in a battery quick disconnect. I prefer to use a volt meter instead of an ammeter. Good luck, and let us know how things turn out. You would be better off to post this question on the forum instead od the classifieds.
