metal bed strips on aa trucks

Has anyone ever seen the metal bed strips that were used on aa flat bed trucks. they are like the ones used on pickups only longer. im rebuilding my bed and there are remnants of them where the bed planks come together.are they avail aftermarket? :?:

You will not find skid strips which are the same as original. But, there are strips which are similar if you are not wanting to restore to original.

Sorry, but I can't find the name of the vendor which I knew of (about 5 years ago). Maybe someone can help.

thanks for the info, Are the original strips shaped like the pick ups ? or are they flat in profile? I work in a metal fab shop, So i may be able to replicate, Im shooting for original as possible, Thanks...

Send me an e-mail at wilsmor@juno.com and I will send you an MS Word document with details on the skid strips.

I have been trying to get the strips made for several years. But, each time I get a lead on someone who says they can make them, it does not work out.

The skid strips for the 88-A platform (1927 - Feb. 1931) has the same cross section as the 89-A express. There is a difference in length and hole locations.
