The person selling does not know what he has! It is a TT express body (including the extra tail gate).

I have been told that the body on my 32 B is an express body. The body is 96 in. long, but I think 4-6 inches were cut off the front to add the hoist. It is 68 in. wide across the wings that stick out at the top. The tailgate measures 58 in. wide. Would one of the tailgates pictured from the 31 body fit mine? The truck wheel base is 131. But I don't know if it is 1 or 1 1/2 ton.

Hello TomH,
Your express body should be a carry over 1931 express body. The '31 tail gate should be the same. The original Ford advertised cargo area is 102-1/8" x 54" x 16" (see attached Ford drawing). The cargo area would be the inside floor dimensions and the height of the tail gate.

Below is a picture (with dimensions) of the rear stamped recess in the body side. The stamping at the front of the side would be the same size.

Your truck is a '32 BB (not a B) and would be rated at 1-1/2 ton (same as the AA). There was no USA 1 ton AA or BB. Yes, it looks like your express body has been shortened. I will be lots of work to put it back to original (but fun!). I had to get the body flares made which were gone on my AA project. I had a tail gate (metal stamping only) made. I have not decided if I will used the original or the new.

I have lots of information about the 195-A express body and you can e-mail me with questions if you want. Also, send more pictures of the express body on you truck.
