Ahh, I get it now, you were just announcing that "$875.00 bought them"...
Well, I don' think I was the only one who read that wrong...
Oh well, maybe now you can get where I was coming from...
Maybe someday we will each have a chance at fine parts at a reasonable price... those were out of this world...

Actually I paid more than that for a pair of used/abused fenders I bought at Hershey a few years ago.

No. I simply posted the price and time of the winning bid.spectria wrote:I don't get it, didn't you say you bought them?I didn't win them. They are out of my price range.

Hello Dave,
Apparently that’s about the going price for those rear fenders , Neil Wilson informed me that Maggie’s rear fenders, spacers , brackets , long running boards and aprons were worth around $2000 , which I had no idea about ,this made me feel much better about my purchase, because that was a big part of what I paid for her.

Re: AA rear fenders on eBay
I've seen a lot of AA fender pairs in worse shape for half again what those went for. If you shop around you will see that, unlike Model A fenders, these are very limited in supply. I have a nice NOS left but have found that getting a nice right-side fender is impossible without springing for a pair. No one I've found will sell just the right-side. Getting a pair for a "reasonable" cost and convincing the wife what is reasonable is something else entirely...

I am in the same boat you are. I have a perfect left and am searching for a right. For what it is worth all you guys "carping" on Chris Haynes is kinda funny. I understood that he was just reporting the timing of the auction & he wasn't the buyer from his initial post. Also those fenders weren't "sniped" at the last second. 17 seconds on Ebay is a lifetime. I was the bidder that came in second and the only reason I lost was that I was in a meeting at work when the auction came to an end. I guess I should look into one of those "sniping" software "thing a ma jings", but I doubt I will.Boomer wrote:I've seen a lot of AA fender pairs in worse shape for half again what those went for. Whom ever got them, Good luck & you got a pretty great deal. Let me know if you want to sell the passenger side.

I know I should just drop this, but:
Obviously, I was wrong, and I really respect Chris and his knowledge... So I let it go.
I respesct all of the posters on this board, and I want to see more posting, and more questions and answers.
Sometimes people are a little harsh, like some were to smilett, who is now gone.
I'll shut up now...
There was only me, and I took Chris's comment about having a job as commentary on me, not just as a comment."For what it is worth all you guys "carping" on Chris Haynes is kinda funny..."

Heh heh heh,
Sonora huh? I go thru there a lot on my way to my digs in Pine Grove. We will have to meet at Alfredo's for a bite and some margaritas.
