Tim,
This is a great offer and I hope someone with a 30 AA157 gets this platform for their project.

I'd love to have it if someone out there were coming through North Carolina, where I could work out something with him.

Looks to be good firewood and scrap iron.

That's likely where its headed if someone does not pick it up. I have no place to store it.Chris Haynes wrote:Looks to be good firewood and scrap iron.

Hey Tim, do more folks than just us here know about your bed offer? Sure seems like someone would want to snap that up.
Plenty cool that you're trying to keep it in circulation first, rather than a direct shot to the scrapyard. Good on ya.
Best, russ

Tim:
I've removed two stakebeds from AA's. I really struggled with the first one. I kept soaking the bolt threads and nuts with penetrating oil and having to use a long cheater over the breaker-bar to keep the nuts turning. I even twisted the bolts out-of-shape. The next bed I removed I used a trick that an aquaintance gave me. He told be to get out my welding torch and heat each nut until they were cherry red, then to hit the cherry red nut with water from the garden hose. The nuts came off so easily that I could hardly believe it! You might already know this trick, but I'll bet others don't.

I'm a complete noob regarding Model A vehicles (have barely owned it a week). Where else would be good places to advertise.

There's a "Free" listing on Craigslist. Or, you might list it for sale there and/or on Ebay.

Tim, not sure if Hemmings Motor News is free to list, or a small fee (which you could recoup), but a lot of folks involved with cars check Hemmings for parts. Probably a good place to list.

I can put your ad in the April 2011 club newsletter if you want to wait that long. There are about 350 club members that get the newsletter. Just let me know by February 2011.

List it on eBay for a dollar.
Re: Free: 185-A bed frame and hardware
This is Bruce in southern OHIO, let me know where you are located, I would make a run to NC for your bed parts, I have a 157" that I was going to put a tanker on, I have two 131.5 trucks with tanks now, so the 4 cell tanker is not going to happen, thanks Bruce
