Looking for a good used model A generator or at least one for a rebuild core.

It would be better to describe the situation in more detail. If your needs are for just a runner, or for points judging. There were several A/AA generators, starting with the "Power-House"in 1928, and then subtle changes in the remaining applications up through 1931.
There are newer and vastly improved methods and appliances for regulating the voltage also. Good luck with all the projects, fb

Thank you for the good advise, didn't know there were AA generators, I'm looking for a driver for sure not too concerned about points but not a power house or a B model just one that would pass for a 30/31.
Definitely looking at ebay (thanks for the link) and the ford barn too.
I've got an alternator to save for an emergency but can't stand the looks of it.
