April 1930 flatbed U-bolt needed.

Post by s147881 »

I have a april 1930 flatbed truck. It has a small u-bolt in the back and middle to hold on the flatbed. The front has a couple of long bolts with plates. I am missing one of the rear u-bolts with the frame spacer. Does anyone have one they are willing to sell or trade. I have one extra middle one without the frame spacer if interested. It is fully derusted and ready for paint. Thanks

Attached is a picture showing the two brackets which should be bolted to the side-front of the 88-A platform. The side of the frame should have corresponding "L" brackets (inverted) riveted on. There would not be any long bolts originally.

Post a picture of the u-bolt you have and indicate the length.

The u bolts are currently getting acid dipped. I should have them back next week and I will post some pics.

Neil, I have the brackets you show in the picture of. Then I have 3 U-bolts about 12 inches, two with frame spreaders, thirs without. I have one U-bolt that is about 6-7 inches and has a small 1.5-2 inch frame spacer. The other long bolts with plates may have come from my helper springs that were on the truck. If anyone is looking for helpers I have a set. I am only missing the one U-bolt and frame spacer that goes in the very rear of the frame. I do have one extra middle frame U-bolt but not the spacer. I will post some pics when I get them back from the stripper. Thanks
