want 1929/Early '30 radiator shell
I am looking for a 1929/Early 1930 AA radiator shell like the one pictured below. Notice that the area around the crank hole is like the picture below.

Chris,
Page 15-5 of the JS shows the 1929 crank hole design. This would be A-8201 for the commercial shell. There is no parts listing for an AA radiator shell that I can find for 1929-early 1930.
Do you have a better picture of the shell?

Sadly I gave the shell, hood, fenders, plash aprons, horn cover, and running boards to Bair's Body Shop in Santa Monica, CA to get them cherried out and painted. When I went back they told me the shop owners brother had left for Montana and took my stuff with him. I have replaced everything except the Shell.Neil Wilson wrote:Chris,

Re: want 1929/Early '30 radiator shell
Chris,
Was the section around the crank hole like what is shown on page 15-5 of the JS for the 1929 shell? This is the only shell I know of for the '29 through mid '30 commercial units.
If yes, then it is an A commercial shell. You would be able to used either a commercial or passenger shell since they are the same. There should be lots of passenger shells which are not good enough for plating but otherwise very good for painting.

My Early 1930 has a four core radiator. Will a Passenger car shell fit it?

Chris,
Check out page 450 of the Service Bulletins----says the radiators are interchangable.

Re: want 1929/Early '30 radiator shell
Chris,
FYI - The radiator shell you are looking for is not an AA part. It is an A part. The only difference between the commercial A and passenger A shell is the finish. Therefore you can use either shell. If you advertise for an AA shell, most A'ers will not know what you want.

I think anodizing would be better that painting aluminum. Aluminum is tough to get paint to stick to.Radar wrote:Chis I don't know but I'm shure they could be painted. Radar

As I said, anodizing would be easier.

Re: want 1929/Early '30 radiator shell
these alum rad have the cap under the hood and no dummy neck so I have to figure out a way to mount the cap to the shell without drilling holes. I'm planning to leave the rad natural alum and put a stainless stone guard in front of it since I will be driving it alot Radar
