[1929 AA boy]

Ok here goes I have an early thirties chassis with a motor tranny and front end I will post pictures ASAP the truck is complete but I sold the cab hood and radiator
So for sale is :
Chassis
2 a motors - decent looking shape but locked up
2 AA front axles with wishbones
Steak bed - wood is rotten on top and someone took the tailboard off - people I tell ya >:/
Possible 4 speed tranny but price would have to b good

that is a 29 frame right? rear wheel says otherwise...

is the front spring good? Or have a good front AA spring and U bolts...

Ive got one oddball aftermarket parts house special and one that has 18 freakin leafs in it held together with bailing wire for spring clamps and u joints that have 2 sets of cotter pin holes! Why must every 29 front spring i come across be broken haha.

I believe the 18 leaf spring set up was a late 29 option and the u-bolts did have two cotter key holes. Probably so they could be used with the 12 or 18 leaf springs. Its what is under my 29

Would the 18 leaf springs give a higher stance ?

yea i knew they had a thick leaf pack for really heavy duty stuff like dumptrucks that idea but i never thought i would see one. This came off a early 30 with a stakebed. From the first looks i thought it was a homemade farmer job cobble together mess but looking at my pics of it all the leafs stack exponentially meaning there are no 2 the same length and the length difference grows bigger and bigger each leaf as you go from crossmember to axle.

But yes it really is using bailing wire as spring clamps... since they are the same width as cars, i saw i think brattons or one of them makes different length spring clamps for model A front springs. I wonder if one of those would work? I highly doubt im going to ever find true correct ones...

Ill snag a pic of it this weekend and show you guys in a new thread haha. I may take it out of the shed and whack it apart and make sure its going to be useable. (no broken leafs etc)
