That is an interesting bed. Any one know what it was used for?? I noticed a 30 31 steering wheel but it has spoke wheels as well. Also looks like the little 3 speed transmission so I suspect it's a 28. I can't see the high low but not all of them had them.

That's not a bad start but $2,500 may be a little high even if it has a good Illinois title which is doubtful.

That is a unique bed, I can't tell if it has the FORD scrip. Looks like hood is laying in the bed, wish the picture showed the hubcaps. I agree that 2500 is high.

Is that a "Grain" bed? I agree with others that the price is too high, but it sure looks like a good start for somebody.

I actually used to own this very truck some years back when I lived in northern Illinois. It looks exactly the same as when I last saw it about 8 or 9 years ago. It is a late '28 with a left side emergency brake and 3 spd trans with high/low. When I got it, it had been sitting outside for some years, thus the cab roof rotted off, and there is no interior although the sheet metal in the cab is pretty good and very restorable. I think it had long runningboards originally; as I recall they looked like they had been cut off. I did not have a title for it and I doubt there is one now. When I got it the gas cap was missing and the tank was full of rain water. I immediately drained and flushed it out; to my surprise it was not that bad inside. Some sealer might make it useable unless it has continued to rust.

Same craigslist seller has another old Ford truck I used to own here:

It looks the same as when I let it go in 2005. He seems to be really clueless about what he has. This truck had a title (maybe he lost it). It is actually a "blackout" 1944 Ford 1-1/2 ton, and although it looks like a stakeside flatbed, it has a hoist under it. It was quite complete but the engine was very much stuck and I'm sure it still is.

This one is a 1942 Chevy which was running (and stored inside) when I had it but I'll bet no one has tried to get it running since then. I had all 6 wheels & tires and a reconditioned original fuel tank for it, but I would not be surprised if some of the parts got lost.
