I'm sure Warford transmissions served their purpose when our AA's were working for a living. Now Warfords are awfully expensive. I understand they're noisey at speed too. I feel like I could do everthing I want to do with an original four speed and a 4:1 rear end gear.
Has anyone had a 4:1 gearset made for personal use or to sell?
Would it cost more than a good usable warford?

I had always wanted to get helical cut gears for my Warford to make it quieter. I guess if enough people wanted to do it, it could be cost effective.

Re: High(er) speed gearset
I have a Warford in my '29 express and it will do 55 all day long (on flat ground) and never overheat. Fun in the Sierras, downshift into 2d and overdrive, perfect for the hills. What's a Warford worth, I have a spare. By the way, you can replace the output gear and quiet it down some but if that doesn't do it you will have to hard-face chrome the gear faces back to spec, then it will be quiet.
