AA frame spacers

Post by rustya1928 »

I am reproducing the 4 sizes of frame spacers that would be used on the Express trucks and the long and short wheel base flatbeds. I am sure these could be used on any other bed that would require spacers. These are the sleeve type spacer as used late 28-31. They are being made just like the originals from original samples. The following pricing is an introductory offer for 90 days. Pricing as follows:
1-3/4" $15.00 ea
4" $17.00 ea
5-1/2" $19.00 ea
6-1/2" $22.00 ea

These should be available in 3-4 weeks. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. All pricing is plus shipping.

AA'ers - research what sleeve style frame spacers you need as follows:

Except for April 1928 and prior AA's with the four cross member frame, the 89-A and 88-A AA's used the 1-3/4" sleeve spacers at the rear (i.e. two of these spacers). Other spacers are:

89-A Express FYI - Check out the "89-A Express Installation Hardware Versions Table" at http://aafords.com/open-bodies/express- ... ails/#ihvt. Those AA express bodies using design 2 floor tie straps would have used Version 5. A drawing showing lengths are at http://aafords.com/open-bodies/express- ... ils/#ihepg

88-A Platform FYI - Check out the "88-A Platform Installation Hardware Versions Table" at http://aafords.com/open-bodies/platform ... etails/#ih

185-A Platform FYI - Check out the AA Truck Talk PDF at http://aafords.com/open-bodies/platform ... atform/#ed

185-B Platform FYI - Check out the AA Truck Talk PDF at http://aafords.com/open-bodies/platform ... atform/#dd

187-A Platform FYI - Check out the AA Truck Talk PDF at http://aafords.com/open-bodies/platform ... atform/#dd

Sleeve style frame spacers were also used for dump body installation where bolts were installed through a bar/plate under the frame. This setup was basically like a u-bolt setup.

I hope the above helps.

If I am reading this correctly I need the following for my May 1930 Express.

2 AA-5116-C Frame Spacer (sleeve)

1 AA-5117-C Frame Spacer (sleeve) RH
1 AA-5118 Frame Spacer (sleeve) LH

2 AA-5115-B Frame Spacer (sleeve)

Is this correct?

That looks like the correct original part ids. AA-5116-C would be the 5-1/2" to 5-9/16" length. AA-5115-B would be the 1-3/4" length. You can use the 4" length for the other two. The top end will likely require some grinding to fit correctly.
