Need warford shift lever

Post by Cramsey2280 »

I recently came across a Warford overdrive and plan to install on my 1929 Express. It is missing the shift lever. Looking for an original so I don't have to have one made.

I need those same measurements so I can make a shift lever, too. I have the Warford, but no shift lever.

You may as well post the pix and dimensions. Then we all can use them. Thanks...

No - but I was a machinist mate in the US Navy. Let me know if you need anything else.

Outstanding piece of work to show us all how to build a Warford shift lever. Go NAVY.

The shaft diameters is in the pictures. It starts out one size and tappers down. I believe I provided both ends and center. As far as key width - your Warford shaftshould be cut for a key - the handle key is same width. Handle is 3/4 inch on large end, 9/16 inch at bend and 7/16 inch at location of shift ball.

whoops I wasnt clear - I meant the shaft diameter off the gearbox itself that the handle clamps to - not the handle diameters :) i dont have a warford myself so nothing to measure here but it looks familiar...
