Are you looking for a particular serial number range or what??Chris Haynes wrote: ↑July 1st, 2018, 10:18 amI am looking for an Early 1930 AA Frame. Southwestern US preferred.
From what Neil has posted it looks like the frames were the same
from January 1930 through March 1931.

The Early '30 was the Short Wheelbase with the split case Timken (bevel gear) rear-end. They used the same cab and fenders as the '28 & '29. They were made into June of 1930. Number range would be somewhere between 2742696 and 3700257.

Re: Early '30 frame wanted
Chris, I have a chassis with frame id of AA3523?23 to sell if that works for you. This may be more than what you want. You can email me for more information if interested.
FYI - RGJS considers "Early" as January through April. Chris wants a 1930 frame which is June and prior. All 1930 and 1931 AA's came with the bevel gear rear axle (split case style).
These frames were designed for the same sheet metal as was used in 1929. This included the small "L" brackets (or at least punched holes for "L" brackets) for the running board shields AA-16598/AA-16599 (short) design 2 or AA-16538/36 (long) design 2 - see http://aafords.com/aa-chassis/aa-16000-fenders/. The location of these "L" brackets changed for the 1930/1931 sheet metal. There may be other differences for these frames which I have not observed.

Re: Early '30 frame wanted
Neil,
My other Early '30 AA Project's frame number is from May 1930. Perhaps this is another instance of the RGJS being incorrect?
