'29 Hi/Low trans linkage.

Post by Still drivin' it »

My profile pic is my truck. I was able to finally acquire the rocker pedal for the hi-low trans and rough it in. Now I just need the linkage. I can fab something, but I I'd rather have original. Any parts out there? I can hazard some pics of my trans, but they'll be from under the truck. 732-591-8880

FYI - The 1929 dual high shift lever should be double eye and the pedals should be double eye. Consequently, the rod was single eye on both ends. So, is what what you have? The shift lever and pedal was single eye and required a rod with a double eye on each end.

The is covered on page E-27 of the RGJS.

First off, thanks for posting. What I have looks a little different. Concentric rings not parallel lines. The distance between the two eyes is approx. 15".

So, you have a miss-match of parts - design 3 dual high and design 1 pedal. Ford didn't make a rod for this setup. Original for you would have been design 3 dual high and design 2 pedal. Attached is the design 1 dual high with design 1 pedal

Sorry, it took me awhile to get back to this. You're saying I have the correct trans for a pre-October '29, just the wrong pedal. I've included another fuzzy pic of the dual trans. I can make the double eye rod work as long as it's about 15" long. At this point, functional would be better than correct. I can always continue the hunt. Spring Carlisle might help. Back to the original question. Any parts out there for me?

Looks like something pretty easy to make.

I envision a brake rod and some assorted tools in my near future.
