89-A Express Installation Hardware

Post by Neil Wilson »

If you are interested in the following, then email me at neil@aafords.com.

I am thinking about another run to produce the installation hardware for the 89-A express. There will be three different sets (A, B and C). Each set is for a particular AA truck and 89-A express design. Each set will be $600 to $700 (yet to be determined). The set information is below:

Set-A for hardware versions 1,2,3 - 16 floor tie straps and 8 bars
Set-B for hardware version 4 - 12 floor tie straps, 6 bars, and 2 body-to-frame brackets
Set-C for hardware version 5 - 12 floor tie straps, 6 bars, and 2 body-to-frame brackets

For information about hardware versions 1-5 see https://aafords.com/open-bodies/express ... ails/#ihvt.

A set will need to be paid for up-front since I will not be producing an inventory to sell. It will likely take two years to finish the run and have sets shipped.

If you are interested in this installation hardware, email me - neil@aafords.com (note - Russ Smith and Greg Denney are on my customer list).

I am getting closer to starting another run of the 89-A Express installation hardware. It is planned that hardware sets will include the following:

floor tie straps (12 straps - 16 straps for early 1928)
bars (6 or 8 for early 1928)
"L" brackets (2 or none for early 1928)
bolts (12 or 16 for early 1928)
plates (6 or 8 for early 1928)

Attached is an example of a set for mid 1928 through mid 1929. Note that the 1/2-13 (1/2 x 7/8) hex nuts will not be included. Nuts can be ordered by each customer from other suppliers such as McMaster-Carr (see https://www.mcmaster.com/95045A033/).
