High speed rear end gears.

I recently got a 1929 AA fire truck. It is in fair condition. It has a worm gear rear end. I want to put higher ratio gears in it. How much trouble am I looking at? where do I start looking for the gears and how do I install new axle seals in the axel tubes? does it take a special driver to install the seals.
