still working it

Post by rollingsculpture »

bit by bit , got it running back in august and have been tinkering since , have adjusted the steering box to take out the freeplay , adjusted timing and carb .have both a zenith A and a zenith B carb to run with it and either one runs great.though some interesting observation is that the zenith A carb idles faster and requires normal start procedure of adjusting the gav and choking the carb at start up and is very smooth on acceleration but the B carb does not need the gav set open or to be choked at start . runs fine but some hesitation on fast acceleration which clears up with gav turned 1/2 turn open. have gone through the front spring pack and replaced 2 springs and replaced the very worn spring shackles, the water pump ,starter and gen have all been rebuilt. . have discovered that the trans case is cracked and leaks also the water jacket on the 1st 3rd and 4th cyls are weeping through cracks on the outside of the engine , otherwise engine will suit its needs just to make things mobile until i can work on the replacement engine and trans .alls well, onto metal work , finally got my Tig hooked up in the shop so next pics will be patch panels and sub rails .Happy motoring
