A Ford truck book I read many years ago?

Merry Christmas all!! All I want for Christmas is a book I read many years ago,"make that many many years ago" I think the title was somthing like "Model A John, or Bill, or some name" All I can remember about the story was, a truck driver who drove an AA truck. I remember he was always dodging the scales, and the best part, he installed a tag axel so he could haul more weight. Remember, I read this book as a young boy, I'm 75 this March, so I'm doing good to remember this much! I would realy like to find the book, of course I could have just dreamed the whole thing
