Has anyone seen or heard of a factory plow for an AA? I just saw one on a rollback going south on Hwy 41. Looked a lot like one that I just saw on an 8N Ford tractor on a tractor restoration show on RFD TV. It appeared to be a 6 or 7 foot wide mineature highway "V" plow. The whole truck was really rusty. I hope it was going to be a project and not scrapped.

Ford did not sell an AA with a snow plow. Ford did sell the AA as a chassis, cowl and chassis, and cab and chassis. Other companies offered non Ford sold cabs, cargo bodies and equipment. Even the Ford sold AA dump truck did not happen until late 1930.

Attached is a 1929 AA snow plow photograph (dated 12-2-31). Sorry, this is a scan of a photocopy. So, the quality is not good.

Just look at all that weight. That thing probably never got over 15 - 20 MPH on dry land.

That truck in the pic is great, but i would hate to spend a 12 hour shift in it.

That is exactly what I saw, but it did not have the mount sticking above the hood. Maybe it was in the bed. Must be a pretty rare find. Our 31 dump with 4 ton of gravel on it only went 20 mph in 3rd gear, so with a wet full push of snow, it must have been a struggle. And how about steering that thing. I have a Ford 8N with a 8' western on it, and keeping it in a straight line with a full push is a good workout even with independant brakes and chains. Think about how fast the kingpins wear out on our trucks without all of the weight, now add 1,1/2 ton of steel plow and mount to the front axle. Talk about a maintainence nightmare, don't forget your grease gun!

At least for now, i want my rig to run like it did back in the day.

Did you notice that the bone stock A engine produced over 40 HP?

We're not seeing the same thing here Chris. The only chart i see there representing a bone stock A engine is test #1, and i don't see any 40# there. Help me out.

Regardless, i don't have any aspirations of Inter-State hwy touring with this thing. I plan to chug the engine around to local destinations while takin' in the scenery. I'm in no particular hurry.
