I want to take my AA for a trip from Theresa, WI To Dearborn this summer. Is it a practical endevor, or not. I am fairly mechanically inclined, and my truck is completely restored and mechanically sound. My only question is can one make the trip on backroads and how much stuff does one have to pack to make the trip (not for me, for the truck). It is not a trailer queen, and I put 600 miles on it last year from July to October and all it needed was a new distributor. I will probably make the trip alone, as no one else wants to ride that far without any modern comforts, maybe I'll take the dog, as he doesn't get a vote. maybe we could get together and figure something out.

Sounds like fun. Be sure to get a membership roster from the national clubs
so if you do have trouble you can find some Model A people.

That would be about 600 miles if you took back roads. It would be an interesting trip to plan. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Road Trip Dude,

Go for it! You only live once. Make some memories! Take lots of photos that has your AA in it.

Shorthaul, It is actually about 875 miles even by taking the SS Badger car ferry across the lake to Luddington MI, and then down to dearborn. I am currently downloading Microsoft streets and trips (for the last 1/2 hour-it must be a huge software bundle). It lets you plan a trip without any highways or freeways. I have to get the Hi speed gears in in the next few weeks before I'll even consider the trip, and I want to go before it gets too hot in the summer, or wait until fall.

Wow! I'M looking at a Garmin Roads and Recreation map on Mapquest and you are planning a journey. Where do you catch the ferry on your side of the pond? It's 65 miles across, that a trip in itself. Keep us posted.
