I was looking through my local newspaper when I noticed an ad about a Double AA club meeting. "Wow" I said, "I didn't even know there was any Model AA clubs in Maine." The meeting was on Friday at 7:00pm. It just so happened that Friday is the day that my friend and I work on our AA's. He came over about noon Friday and I told him about the AA club I saw in the newspaper. "Great" he said, "let's go tonight." In the meantime we started to work on our AA trucks. After about 2 hours he asked me if I wanted a cold beer because he had some in his cooler in his pickup. "Sure" I said. He went and got his cooler. We kept on working hard on our AA's and didn't notice how many times we went to the cooler. Soon we happened to remember the Double AA Club meeting. It was now 6:15pm and the meeting was at 7:00pm. We cleaned up real quick and grabbed 1 more beer and set out for our first club meeting. We got there just in time because in Maine we measure distance and time by beers. From my house to where the meeting was it was only a 1 beer trip. We walked in just as the meeting was beginning. There were about 25 people, men and women. I said to my friend "this is cool, I didn't know there were so many people around here interested in AA's." The meeting started and everyone that spoke kept talking about drinking. "Wow, cool, not only do these people like AA's but they like to have a beer also" I said. The talking was great, people were very friendly, but they didn't seem to now very much about trucks. Oh well, it was still a lot of fun! Can't wait to go to my next AA meeting!
