I saw a truck with that dump body at the Syracuse national truck show years back. Really neat setup.

I've seen a still photo or two of AAs with scissor-lift beds mounted on them, but I've never actually seen one or have heard of any left in existence. Have any of you seen or know of any that are left?

I have a '29 AA with a all mechanical high-lift coal body built by the Moore Body Company from Reading, PA. It powered by a PTO on the transmission, but doesn't use any hydraulics to lift the body, unlike the one shown in the Ford literature. The gearbox has a gear coming out each side that pulls or pushes a toothed track front or back to scissor up the body. It was one of my next projects and is now in pieces.

A high-lift coal body, huh? Wow! That's a unique body. How high do you suppose it lifts? How high would the bottom of the bed be above the ground when lifted as high as it can go?

Just now saw this. That very dump mechanism is available on a commercially made, fully galvanized utility trailer on display at the Winter Sportsman's Show in Sacramento. 12v powered hydraulic unit. Just about the right size for an AA, too, although I wasn't thinking along those lines then. I'll bet Mr Google knows how to find the maker (might have been California) and they might even custom fit one to an AA. I think it was a Sacramento area trailer dealer displaying it.

The two bodies that I thought were really cool were the expanding motorhome body (I thought that was a modern invention) and the last truck/special delivery which had stained glass in the side panels.
