Interesting AA on Ebay

Post by jtw »

There is a "1930 Ford Model A Model AA" in Barrington RI. that is different and not too common. I think that it was one of the rolling chassis/fenders/running boards/cowls rigs that Ford sold to after market companies. I don't have my reference book in front of me so can't come up with a company name. They are asking pretty BIG money, but it does look pretty good.

Wow! No spare tire, and wrong nuts on the spare tire carrier. Broken lug nut. Angle on the leaf spring hangers on the rear axle doesn't look right. I love the twisty tie holding the tailgate closed. The overspray on the bed. The unpainted cowl section on the passenger side. Hold down clamp for the armored cable is on the wrong head stud. No handle for the window crank. Repro radiator? Drivers side headlight lens is crooked. Puddle of coolant under the truck. All that said, I wouldn't pay 22k for it, but that's me.

I would agree with Red, there too much going on for the money. What's with the pipe rack over the two rear windows? This thing looks like and army artillery wagon or something. I would be interested in looking through the appraiser's notes as well.

The truck looks Canadian and the price looks like the owner has been watching too much Barrett-Jackson.

I think they should have an opening bid price of $7500 - but if they didn't do most of the work themselves and just hired the local body shop to "fix" it up you could understand how they could come up with the delusional price that they have set. O'well there is 1 person in the world that might have to have it and might pay that price, But they have to find him and I think he is really well hidden right now.

The man said he might take this truck to B-J auction if someone didn't buy it. The thing about that is, there has to be at least two people there that want the truck for it to get to his price and I don't think there are that many delusional people out there.
