Looking for an AA engine block-Prefer early 31

Post by Model AA Rookie »

Trying to restore my 31 AA dumptruck and realized I don't have a AA engine. I have 2 A engines but no AA. Anyone with one please let me know. The closer to Maine the better. Thanks :D .

I'm in eastern CT. If you end up coming down to the cape and are interested in selling the other two engines you have, let me know.

I still do not understand, If the model "A" engine is the same as the model "AA" engine other than
the second "A" stamp , why ?????. The serial # and engine will not match any way. My 1929 has an "A" engine in it, the truck is registered by the # on the frame. Do you have a title ? Mac...

My understanding is both engines are the same. A and AA. I'd take both #s to the registar of deeds and put both numbers on the title.. One to register, the other for Information only.

Mac. I read someware the AA stamp was used to ID the engine assembly that had a different clutch then the A. For assembly line use only. The numbers should match if they are original from the factory.

All you really need is a set of the Model A -AA serial number stamps. If you belong to a Model A club maybe someone has them (someone in my club has them). Then you just file off the number you don't want and stamp on the number you do want. The stamp set includes an A and the star.
