Wooden Flatbed Plans WANTED

Post by gearling »

I am bringing in a 29 AA chassis, no cab, but has all the tin from the cowl forward. I am considering building a flatbed for it. I have fairly good carpentry and metalworking skills and am looking for a set of plans or blueprints to avoid 'reinventing the wheel'. Thanks in advance for any information that may help!

I am in North Texas, I occasionally go to Kansas and may go to the Dakotas in the Spring. Shipping might be an option. Depending on what you want for it and how it would pack up, it may be worth considering. Thanks!

We don't have plans, but we can send you pictures of what we built.

Some pictures posted at http://www.tresburrosgarage.com/Capay-History.html

My dad built it on the fly using the metal bed demensions, but this one is 12 feet long.

The pics are great. Looks like some nice work there. It looks like I have a used bed on the way, it needs some restoration work and should suffice as an 'authentic' part for my truck project. I may be looking for a cab, or I may want to build one of those open wooden canopy cabs that I have seen on delivery trucks. For me, this doesn't have to be original, as long as it looks good and period 'correct'. Thank you all...
