Re: AA Jack Identification
Well neither are true AA jacks. They would say ford script on them have embossed WALKER on the inside of the handle hole and have part numbers b373, b62, b101, and 17 stamped in parts.
Very similar construction and prolly used by another company like Chevy dodge reo white gmc Studebaker etc... Or could be a generic jack bought at western auto

Re: AA Jack Identification
Stakebed, Where did you get the detailed information from? The Ford engineering drawing dated 5/15/31 for AA-17080-B does not indicated any of those details. Walker would not have been the only supplier. It could be that your meant to say that neither are "true Walker jacks"?Stakebed wrote:Well neither are true AA jacks. Re: AA Jack Identification
i got it from the latest judging standards - it shows 3 pics of jacks- explains in detail about the first 2 but the last jack for late 31 with the 2" square top and 6 1/2" base doesnt give alot of info. The jack pictured on the right in the pictures may be correct for late 31 I dont know (I was looking at the pics on my not so great phone)... the jack on the left the oblong holes going up the middle are "flat topped" and dont match the picture in the standards...
I could be wrong but from what info i have and probably should have waited till i saw fullsize pics on a computer screen to say what i said.

Re: AA Jack Identification
The two jacks shown in the photo by macswoods are the AA-17080-B style (i.e. third drawing in the RGJS page E-91). And yes the left jack shown does not match the drawing in the RGJS and is most likely not what came with the AA starting mid 1931.Stakebed wrote:i got it from the latest judging standards - it shows 3 pics of jacks- explains in detail about the first 2 but the last jack for late 31 with the 2" square top and 6 1/2" base doesnt give alot of info.
