my four speed is holding some oil where are the cracks tipiklay?
the forth gear has some wear what is acceptable.

my understanding is if there is a crack in the box the oil will leak out?
i cannot see any cracks and there is still oil in the box,however
too double check were would the cracks bee?
also the fourth gear is worn what is acceptable beefore a new gear.

I don't have a picture showing a cracked 4-speed case. But, as I recall, the crack occurs across the bottom of the case at the lower point. The crack sometimes extends up each side as well. If you clean the bottom of the case, the crack will normally show if there is one. You could check the housing again a week later. I believe the transmission oil will leak out over time if there is a crack.

If your not sure if its cracked fill the bare case as high as you can with something like parts cleaner and get the outside bone dry. Let it sit for a few days and see if its leaked out.
