Hello
Hello everyone,
My name is Bill Megill I am new here. I have a 28 AA stake body that I am working on, it's in running condition but has been sitting for almost 10 years. I am good with my hands and have worked on many cars and trucks but I am sure I will have some questions for all of you as i work on it.

Re: Hello
Hi Bill: Welcome to the group. You have come to the right place. Sounds like you have a nice project. Lots of expert advice and years of involvement with AA. Best of luck and enjoyment with your truck.

Re: Hello
it is titled as a 28. old owner said it had a factory option duel rear added. when i get a chance i will look at the info plates on the engine and frame to confirm. the Cab is the older pre June 1930 version. it also has a 3 speed main trans, and a 3 speed aux Warford trans. but i am confused as the main trans has reverse located at down right, not up left like that era should have.

Re: Hello
Interesting roof line you have there also. Is that one of those Branford canadian cabs by chance. A side view would be nice.

Re: Hello
Nice looking truck, we need more pictures.
The 4-speed reverse is right and down, is there a PTO plate on the right side of the transmission.
One more thing, is that a Live steamer I see behind the truck?

Re: Hello
need to take more photos. i always seem to forget to do that! interesting that the 4 speed is down right for reverse. i could not find a 4th gear in this trans, but when i get it running again i will try it. it makes me think it has to be a 4 speed because when i was driving it on Saturday i passed a roadside radar and it said i was doing 31mph downhill and the motor was screaming. ( i will never run the motor like that just testing top speed). did they stack the Warford aux trans on the 4 speed, I had read it was only on the 3 speed?
here are some short vids from Saturday

Re: Hello
Wire wheels are 1928. I doubt it is a four speed unless it was installed after leaving the factory. Your reverse should be to the left and up. A Mitchell Gear Splitter will give you a good overdrive for more speed.
