Re: Bed bolts
Neil, its on a 32 BB so i would guess it to be a late body, wouldn't the hold down bolts be the same, I have acouple of them but someone put other stuff in place of the missing, the orginals have the large carriage bolt type head and are 7/16.

Re: Bed bolts
I am making the bolts that go through the wooden bed runners and the bed hold down straps. There are 12 of these used on a 28-31 short wheel base bed. Not sure if these would be the same , but I would guess that Ford might have kept this item as well as the hold down straps the same. Let me know if I can help, I have only 2 sets left of a one time run of these. You can contact me at rustya1931@hotmail.com if you have any questions.

Re: Bed bolts
yes they are 7/16 and go through a special washer that uses two small screws to hold the washer in place . I think Neil has drawings posted in a old news letter or posted on the web site

Re: Bed bolts
You can see the bolts I am making ,( or a drawing of them) in an add that I have posted on this site. Just scroll down to bed bolts,( rusty a) and there is a factory drawing of the bolt. I also make the back up plate that is held on with a screw to the inside of the long bed runner wood. The lock washer and nut go up against this plate. I have plenty of the plates but only 2 sets of the bolts left. Let me know.
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Bed bolts
This is what is on this truck there are about 4 or 5 of them, what you have there I don't believe will work as these are in the bed strips and there is no washer with two screws.

Re: Bed bolts
The 1931 AA131 195-A and AA157 197-A were also built in 1932. There is documentation/drawings of the body mounting hardware in the "AA Truck Talk – The 195-A and 197-A Express Bodies" article (page 9). This is a PDF and can be found at https://aafords.com/open-bodies/express ... express/#d.
Like Bud indicates - the carriage bolts were 7/16-20 x 3-1/4" long. They were inserted through a heavy washer (1/8 x 1-23/32). The washers were countersunk flush in the floor and were held to the floor with two spiral shank screws.
I don't have any information regarding the BB. So, there might have been a change for 1932 BB.
