Relocated fuel tank
I deleted my cowl tank by cutting the bottom out of it so I could use the space behind the dash panel for my heater and update wiring system including fuse center. I found this gas tank to mount as a saddle tank on side of truck. I'm planning on using my truck for regular jobs in my business and want the truck to look as original as possible with some modern upgrades and dependability.

Cool! Will you mount the heater controls through the tank, like a dashboard? Are you installing a/c too?

It is sad that a gas tank that has survived for 80 years has been destroyed.

I agree, however, I also owned a 28 Model A pickup that always had the smell of raw gas in the cab , it was restored and bone stock , loved it but could not have driven as much as I plan to this one! This truck will be used in my day to day business as a work truck. I think it will be reliable and safer! I know the purists would bark about this , but in the end I'm doing a greater service to this truck by running it for all to enjoy than the guy with the stocker sitting in the garage with a blanket over it and a faked shiny paint job!Chris Haynes wrote: ↑May 5th, 2019, 8:19 pmIt is sad that a gas tank that has survived for 80 years has been destroyed.

To each his own. I have one of those fake shiny paint jobs, but it is stock otherwise, and I drive it all the time. It's very reliable and fun to drive. I guess fake is in the eye of the beholder. Most AA trucks came out of the factory with un-polished body paint, but as I recall, it was an up charge to have yours delivered polished. So I'll pretend that's how I "ordered" mine!
I like what your truck is becoming and would like to know more about what all the wires are for and other modifications you making. Keep us posted as you progress!

Geez does a Model AA need that many wires? I think you should have done this truck a service and just bought a 70s model Ford instead. I think your discussion would probably be more welcomed on The H.A.M.B.
