Hi, I am looking for a high speed worm for my 29 AA truck. I ran across a NOS high speed brass worm gear. It has never been installed, no wear marks anyplace on the gear. Hard to believe it survived sitting in a box for 90 years. So I am looking for a high speed worm gear in good condition. The high speed worm has 6 splines vs 4 splines on the slow speed worm. E-mail is rockcreek6@aol.com.
Thanks

What I have is the 31 tooth brass worm gear. What I need is the high speed steel worm screw which according to Neil Wilsons web site has 6 spiral teeth and has a part number of AA-4210-B. looking for the 5.17:1 gear ratio worm that is a match for the 31 tooth brass worm gear. I currently have a low speed worm rear axel in my 29 AA and want to make it a high speed rear axel. The only part numbers I have come from Neil Wilson's AA website. I am unfamiliar with the part number you posted.
Please feel free to educate me if my information is incomplete or wrong. Also I am assuming that the worm and worm gear are the same for trucks with and without emergency brakes.
Thanks!

Ok, did a search of this web site and found a couple of postings by Neil Wilson referring to the high speed worm as part number AA-4610-B and the brass worm gear as AA-4210. However on his web site the picture of the steel worm has the numbers reversed. Not sure which is correct. Still looking for a high speed steel worm. Thanks!

FYI - AAFords.com was in error (now corrected). The Worm (i.e. worm screw) is AA-4610-A or AA-4610-B. See https://aafords.com/aa-chassis/aa-4000-rear-axle/#wtaDBF 29 wrote: ↑July 11th, 2019, 9:16 amOk, did a search of this web site and found a couple of postings by Neil Wilson referring to the high speed worm as part number AA-4610-B and the brass worm gear as AA-4210. Re: Looking for a high speed worm # AA-4210-B
Thanks Neil, It makes sense now. The brass worm gear had a tag on it saying AA-4210-B and I was just assuming the tag had come from the worm screw. Now I know that the tag on the brass gear is correct.
