Does anyone know what the lubricant capacities are for the 4 speed and bevel gear differential?

Pretty sure I used up most of three quarts of 600W when I filled mine up to the top plugs on both.

I was going to order some more. My transmission is really low. I think I will drain it and flush it out with kerosene first. Three quarts filled both transmission and differential from empty?

If memory serves me, yes I believe so. That big rear pumpkin has a lot of room in it.

According to the Service Bulletins, the 4-speed transmission holds two quarts, the bevel gear differential holds 4 1/4 quarts.
There is also a note that 'M533 lubricant is used in the transmission, differential and dual high'
Always one bad decision away from a good time.

Stew or anyone, Where in the Service Bulletins is the above information found. I found on page 375 (September 1929) lubricant capacities. The 4-speed transmission is not listed. The 4-1/4 quarts for the bevel gear axle would have been the 1929 axle (not the 1930/1931 bevel gear axle)

The 4 speed transmission holds 6 pints; with a power take off 8 pints. This is a quote from page 94 of the 1933 March-April-May Ford Service Bulletins.

Edwin or anyone, please scan page 94 of this bulletin and email to neil@aafords.com.

6 pints = 3 quarts = .75 gal; 8 pints = 4 quarts = 1 gal

I don't think Ford knew what the capacities were. Mar, Apr, May 1933 shows rear axle 7pts and trans 6pts. Nov 1936 rear axle 9pts, trans 2.5pts.
Dec 1937 rear axle 7pts and trans 5pts. This was from the 1932-37 Service Bulletins.

Thanks for that info. So, according to Ford it depends on what size pint one used - who would have thought.

My blunder! I thought the information was for the later style bevel rear axle. I bought my copy second hand, and the 4 speed info was penciled in. Sorry for adding to the confusion. Page 375 is what I was looking at.
My sincere apologies.
