I bought a Sparton horn listed as "1928-29 Model A Horn" to put on my 1929 AA. I wanted to replace the aftermarket horn on my truck when I bought it (Prior Owner said it was original). I had to do some restoration to the Sparton so I ordered a horn bracket from a Model A supplier. When I got it, the two holes that bolt to the horn were not wide enough. It was the same size as the AM horn on the truck. It is stamped "Ford". The AM horn and bracket holes are 2 & 5/16 inches center to center. The Sparton horn is approximately 2.5 - 2 & 9/16 inches center to center. See pics below.
I saw one like this for sale that had a different bracket that did not appear to mount under the headlight.
I am wondering if I have a correct 28-29 Model A Sparton horn, and if so, is there a wider bracket available for it? One that mounts under the Left headlamp utilizing the headlamp mounting bolt and nut.

In my opinion, there is no way that that is a Model A horn. That may be why it does not fit
Re: 1928 29 Sparton Horn Mount Bracket
The Sparton horn for the model A is model AF. Sparks Withington made several Sparton models. Yours is for a non Ford car. On the tag it quotes the model. I can't read it, but it is not AF. The correct horn has a bell shaped front end. Ford started with three different make horn suppliers and later added two more. They changed the bracket slightly (see Service Bulletins) but they fit all Model A horns. The bracket you have will fit any correct Model A horn.

Re: 1928 29 Sparton Horn Mount Bracket
Well it appears the results are in. Not a model A horn. Looks nice, but my plan was to get a "original" A horn on it. Probably will put on eBay, use the working AM Horn for now, and wait till I come across a correct one.
Thanks for the help. Learning more as I go along.
