SACRAMENTO VINTAGE FORD OLD CAR AND ROD MEET

Post by SHELBY MESSER »

Everyone noticed maybe I'm in Sacramento now. Anyway I was at Sacramento Vintage Ford yesterday, I talked to Jerry over there. They have a old car and truck meet in June every year, the last Friday of the month, June 25. Jerry said that cars and trucks start arriving around 10 AM. The meet will start at 3PM. 'til 9 PM. Jerry said there are usually several AA's there. This is my first time to one of their meets. don't know what to expect except ENJOY and take plenty of pictures. Anyone here expecting to be at the meet. they are having another meet July 30Th, Sept. and Oct. Ones that are coming maybe I'll see you there! Shelby, Sacramento.

Anyone else planning to go to the SACRAMENTO VINTAGE FORD MEET. Seems to be a big event. I have never been, since I'm from Louisiana. I plan to be there June and July both. Planning on taking plenty of pictures. Try to post mainly the AA's that are there. Maybe I'll see you there with your AA! Shelby, Away In Sacramento.

I was at the "Sacramento vintage Ford"Meet today. I only saw one AA. It was a "28 May be a "29 Roadster AA truck with the steel bed. The hand brake lever was in front of the gear shift lever, which was a 3-speed. I think it had a warford gearbox behind the tranny. I say it was a "28 because it had no outside door handles. I was with the truck for awhile but I never saw the owner to talk to him so I don't know if he is a member of this club or not. In July I will try to contact the owner if the truck is back July 30th. I'll be back. Here are a few of the pictures I took!!! Shelby, away in Sacramento.

Shelby, how much truck trouble are you allowed to get into while in SAC? Have you been to the Hays Truck Museum in Woodland? I'm coming up there for the weekend, going to try to make it to the Towe and Hays on Saturday. And maybe the Train Museum on Sunday. I also notice there is the Reno swap meet on Aug 1 at Arco Arena and of course the Hot August Nites starts on Aug 5 in Reno. Bob E.

Bob and I met up at Woodland Truck and Equipment Museum. Had a good time talking and looking at everything. We both enjoyed out visit. There were only 3 AA trucks on display. 1 late '30-31 AA closed cab, 1 '28-'29 roadster AA/ extended frame/ all wood bed both doors were off, the frame had been cut off behind the cab (about two feet back. And the rear frame of a '34 was cut off ahead of the U-joint and spliced together. The drive shaft between the transmission and the rear U-joint was extended. 5' or 6' / a homemade cross member welded to the frame. The rear axle and springs were from a '34 /floating rear axle/ a larger lug bolt pattern. The bed was all wood and very nice. Don't know the wheel base. 1 AA Closed-Cab '28-'29-E'30 1311/2" wheel base. It had a Ford built bed / FORD TRUCK stamped on rear of bed. I forgot my camera so I never got any pictures. Bob took some pictures maybe he will post!!! Shelby, Away in Sacramento.

Hello Shelby,
This C-cab has always attracted my attention , if I had the time and space to build one I would do it in an instant , I have no idea who this belongs to , I just click and save , so if the owner is viewing please excuse me for not showing an attribute.
